Once the government takes over the telephone network, all accounts will be move to SIP standard for terrestrial telephones. Any current POTS phones will require ATAs or replacing the phone with something that would support SIP. The subscriber will go to their provider’s website, log in, and select the phone number to get their SIP credentials. Any current phone jacks will not work as telephone, but some of the newer cabling might support 10MBPS LAN which might work for those that don’t want to do renovation yet. They will just need a technician to replace the telephone jack to an RJ45 jack.

All cellular phones must be unlocked no matter how many telephone providers there are. This assures not only compatibility with the nation, but also if using the phone when traveling out of the nation. Basic phones will not comply with NSC, so this will mean that no store, nor Kaldan website will offer basic phones. They can still choose to import, but there will be a higher tariff. Smartphones will be the recommended standard.
