Television

Televisions comes in one of three methods. The first, and most likely will be the use of OTA (Over The Air) antennas. This method is free, and available to everyone, especially in rural areas. The disadvantage of this is that television requires the use of radio waves to carry the broadcast to the television. These radio bands can be put to other uses such as emergency services, or expanding on the cellular capabilities. The second is through a coaxial cable, and connecting through there. This is more expensive than OTA, but a preferred option for many that has the discretionary spending to get their local channels, and premium cable channels. The third is satellite. A satellite dish is positioned on the property, and a cable will run into the premise to provide satellite television for those that might need it, or prefer satellite for whatever the reason. The disadvantage of this is that satellite signals can be blocked by adverse weather. This however might be the only option in remote locations where there aren’t even OTA channels available.

The first thing to do is re-assigned all of the stations. For example, if there was an NBC in Kaldus, then Ka-Tel might assign NBC with channel 11. This will be channel 11 throughout the nation. Someone doesn’t have to tell the person the station ID, but can give a station number, and know that will exist. The television network will also use a terrestrial system for television. To do this, the subscriber will have to acquire a smart TV, and download the Ka-Tel TV app. If there are multiple television providers, then the app will provide those providers as an option. This is because all Over The Air channels will be phased out in opting for IPTV (Internet Protocol TeleVision) services. This will free up the radio waves for other important services such as a national emergency radio system. IPTV services will provide for a clearer picture, no drop offs, and no signal degradation. This will of course result in unhappy customers, but they will have to adjust. Those without a smart TV will be able to buy a smart TV adapter like Apple TV, or a Roku.

To use this system, there must either be a BPL (Broadband over Power Line) modem, or a fiber connection. The customer is not required to have internet services, but the service or modem will be used exclusively for television services, and web browsing will be blocked until the customer chooses to have internet services.
